DERMAPLANNING

WHAT IS DERMAPLANNING?

Dermaplaning is a popular, non-invasive technique for removing the top layer of dead skin cells and vellus hairs (also called “fine hairs”). During this procedure, a surgical grade scalpel is used and hence the treatment is best performed by an experienced esthetician. Dermaplanning results in brighter, more even skin. In particular, it facilitates the application of make-up after the treatment. Although dermaplanning can be performed on any part of the body, it is a less effective method for covering large areas and is therefore usually only applied to the face.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Dermaplaning is a simple and relatively quick procedure. Treatment involves scraping the top layer of facial skin using a surgical-grade scalpel to remove vellus hairs and exfoliate the skin. Due to the sharp nature of the scalpel, it is best to entrust this operation to a Swen Privée specialist with extensive experience in this instrument. Most clients report no irritation or pain during the treatment and love how it feels on their skin afterwards.
